Thanks to everyone who replied to my question, if using the future tense in
technical documentation is appropriate or not, and when it may be appropriate.
I feel much happier to have resolved the problem (with myself at least...
we'll see about my boss)! I now know what I am doing wrong and how I can
write much better documentation in the future. :-)
