Yes, the company I work for uses ellipses on menu items and buttons. We take
care, however, to drop the ellipses in our documentation. I'd have to check
if it's our house style only or part of Microsoft's Manual of Style, to
which we generally conform.
I was told that the ellipsis means "there's another dialog box or menu or
some other thing coming when you click this button".
