TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
In the interest of giving credit where credit is due, this content
actually comes from a variety of STC sources and other individuals,
including many long-time TECHWR-L members like David Knopf and
Peter Ring. Due to the framing, it's hard to tell.
To get at the sources, be sure to click the link in the banner
to turn off the about.com frame, then edit the URL to get at
the rest of the goodies from the source. (E.g., link to Bill
Warner's article via About.com, then turn off the top banner,
then edit http://www.stc.org/pics/online/hyperviews/archive/98Spring/warner.htm
down to http://www.stc.org/pics/online/hyperviews/ and
you've got a whole pile of additional information, complete
with an accurate picture of who provided the information.)
Sorry for the minor tirade, but I get really tired of sites that
present a bunch of framed deep links (even very valuable ones,
as in this case) as their own content.
