Stands for Service Mark, and shows that you have submitted for trademark
protection, but have not yet been granted it. I don't see it often anymore,
but I remember it from my consumer electronics days.

Subject: What does a superscripted "SM" Mean?
I know this might seem silly, but with so many acronyms today I just
don't know what this means.
I know these superscripted characters are:
* an R in a circle is "Registered"
* a TM in a circle is "Trade Mark"
* a C in a circle is "Copyright"
But what is "SM" in a circle?
Thanks,
Dianne Blake
