If anyone is interested in what some users have to say about documentation,
there's a discussion on Slashdot about on-line vs. printed documentation at http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=00/04/18/0232252&mode=thread
You might have to register to see all the threads, but no spam will result
from registering there.
For those of you who don't know, Slashdot is the open-source sounding board.
Any registered user can say anything. The participants are mostly hard-core
open-source hackers. The discussion is interesting, but you have to take
what they say with a grain of salt, just like any forum on the internet
which gives complete freedom to the users. The answers are rated on a scale
of 1-5, so you can easily filter down the ones which are considered less
insightful. It is reasonable to assume that the perspectives expressed are
representative of programmer-types, but not of your typical end-user for
commercial applications.
