Now, now, folks! Ballot box stuffing is an old American custom! As various
politicians are reputed to have said, "Vote early and often!"

There's more than one problem....
The basic problem with any poll is that usually only
those with a vested interest respond to them (and then
only when they're dissatified).
Online polls have an even larger problem since you
can't control who votes or how many times. Someone
with a little time to spare or a beef against an item
in the poll could "run up" the numbers for their
favorite brand/product/company/opinion/whatever. As a
result, online polls are, at best, useful only to give
a general tendency of a trend - not to plot the future
course of your life against. Certainly, you should not
quote an online poll as gospel without closely
studying its methodology (would a tech writer do
otherwise?).
JMHO.
