In the past few years, the south east of England has become one of the
better places to work and live - pretty much negative unemployment in the
IT and related industries, 22% tax up to £28K, 40% on anything above that
(IIRC), free medical (so it's the infamous NHS - you can pay for private
medical care if you want to...), affordable housing and semi-relaxed
commutes (around Cambridge, anyway), and a quality of life that no amount
of money could buy in Silicon Valley... ;)
