Hello,

I've tried to find information on this subject in my tech. writing
books, and on-line, but to no avail. I had to put together a document
for my company's web browser, and in
listing which HTML tags, JavaScript methods, etc. are supported by the
browser, I provided a description of the various tags, elements, etc.
These descriptions were gleaned from a variety of resources, such as
Netscape's JavaScript reference, and W3C's HTML specs, and the like.

My question is am I legally obligated to acknowlege these sources, and
if so, how? I only ask b/c I thought maybe this information would fall
into the spectrum of 'common knowledge', or something of the sort, and I
have acknowledged the sources in my document, but I just want to know
what the standard protocol is. I'm the only writer for a small company,
so if anyone could assist me, I would greatly appreciate it.

thanks in advance,
Susie Pearson
