Michele, you are NOT using the automatic numbering for your chapter
number -- you are using the field in which you (or someone)typed the chapter
number. The field that creates your chapter number is a TITLE field and that
field is located in the Properties dialog box. Click File > Properties and
you will see the chapter number.
To get the page number, just use the regular page button on the Header and
Footer toolbar. Of course, type a hyphen between the chapter number and the
page number.
