"Index not Available" error message when opening indexed pdf docs
Subject:"Index not Available" error message when opening indexed pdf docs From:Ted Rose <tedr -at- frontline-pcb -dot- com> To:TECHWR-L -at- LISTS -dot- RAYCOMM -dot- COM Date:Wed, 14 Jun 2000 17:04:47 +0300
When trying to open indexed pdf documents, we get an error message
that says "the index D:\manuals\.... 0105.pdx is not available".
Click OK, and the document opens normally. The Search Query function
is available, and the proper index is attached to the pdf document.
The Search function works properly. Everything is OK, except for the
error message we get when opening the pdf.
Any ideas as to what is wrong?
I tried creating a new index in the local directory where the pdf
documents
and the index reside, but the same result occurs. I tried making
local copies of a couple of the pdf docs, reattaching the correct
(local)
index, but the same error message occurs.
The error occurs in Exchange 3.01 or 4.0, or in Reader 4.0 or Acrobat
4.0.
The pdf docs were created from PostScript documents created by using
Framemaker 5.5.2 and Distiller 4.0..
Running Windows NT 4.0, English-only, Service Pack 6.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
