One option would be to export the code examples from Word to a text file.
Then open text file with a programmer's file editor, such TextPad
(http://www.textpad.com/download/index.html) which sells for a scant $27.00.
Text pad allows you to convert tabs to spaces, as well as define the width
of each tab. You can also select and delete vertical blocks of text, which
can be really useful in some cases.
