Hi, Trish (I'll respond to your other question from the other day
privately)..I agree that an unsolicited resume, even though sent via
email rather than mail, should follow all the normal conventions as a
paper-based resume.
1. Cover letter
2. Resume
and they should be called something that associates the sender to the
document, such as file name.
In addition, I usualy do two other things.
1. The file name usualy also includes the date. My resume, if I was
to send it out today, might be named jposada10_26
2. In the cover letter, I include the software format and version
number, such as:
"The attached document was crerated in Word, version 2000."
OTOH, I get a number of agencies asking me to send them my resume.
They soliticited it. In that case, the get the naming and version
information, but I usualy skip the cover letter as we've already had
a conversation that works in place of the cover letter.
