~|>whether you think any of these (and which ones) make up for
~|>lower pay?
All of the "atmospheric" benefits are nice, but none IMO makes up for
pay so low that people jump ship after their training period.
~|>
~|>free lunch every other week
depends on what is served for lunch :-) That is, no. It doesn't take
Alan Greenspan to figure out that an occasional lunch is a far smaller
expenditure than a salary increase.
~|>free coffee, tea, and cocoa
no. I'd expect this anywhere.
~|>flexible work hours
I like them, and appreciate the flexible schedule I have, but VISA
doesn't accept them as payment.
~|>occasional telecommuting acceptable (once a week is the standard)
I like the idea, but VISA doesn't accept it as payment.
~|>casual dress
no. I appreciate not having to dress up, but...
~|>a standard 40-hour week
no; that _should_ be expected. A "benefit" would be generous overtime
pay.
