Subject:Adobe Go Live vs. Macromedia Dreamweaver From:"Shelley Hoose" <shelley -at- a-frame -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Thu, 16 Nov 2000 12:10:03 -0800
My understanding is that GoLive, while powerful, does not produce code that
conforms to widespread HTML standards. A workaround is possible, namely by
creating special templates and then tieing them to pages.
I'm sorry; can't remember where I read this but it was from an informed
source -- not Macromedia! Anyway, while the integration of all Adobe
software sounds great (and real time-savers -- such as being able to edit
art directly in GoLive and have it automatically change the size, etc. in
Photoshop), this one conforming issue stopped me cold a month ago when I was
ready to switch from Dreamweaver to GoLive.
Good luck,
Shelley
