Re: RGB Equivalents to Pantone Color Codes
I have been given the Pantone numbers that the graphic artist used for
the colors used in the logo and I need to translate these numbers into
equivalent values in the RGB color model used in the painting programs
available to me.
It is not necessary that someone do my job for me. If there is some
resource that you know of, available through the WWW or ina public
library that would allow me to get this information myself, that would
be sufficient.
Does anyone out there have one of those translation programs (such as
Office Color Assistant) that they can use to translate the Pantone
numbers I have to RGB values?
Hi, David. The PANTONE Web site has an FAQ with a related topic: Needs RGB Conversions for PANTONE Colors (see the FAQ at http://pantone.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/pantone/faq). You can use PANTONE's ColorWeb Pro software, which includes color pickers, to find RGB data for PANTONE colors. A 15-day trial version of the software is available at http://www.pantone.com/catalog/catalog.asp?Category=Cat_Web.
I believe you can also use the color wheel in Photoshop to determine the RGB values for a PANTONE color, but I don't have Photoshop installed on this computer, and I can't remember exactly how this procedure works.
