Subject:Another use for SnagIt From:John Posada <jposada01 -at- yahoo -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Wed, 29 Nov 2000 08:28:25 -0800 (PST)
I've been asked by my client that while I write the help for a small
application written by a department within the company, I submit
emails to the developer with bugs that I find as I write about it.
This application happens to have alot of bugs. It is a sales
management program that salesmen use while closing a sale and is in
Beta stage.
On a regular basis I get error messages.
Using Snagit, I capture the error message and the whole screen that
the message appears on. I open the capture in Snagit Studio and using
the tools, add a message block with what I was doing that caused the
message and circles and arrows pointing to fields that I was working
in and anything else appropriate to the error. This image is attached
to the email report and now, even if the image gets removed from the
email, it contains everything needed to document the problem.
It has worked very well for my developer.
