I've taken to using "Paste Special" and pasting the selection as Text. Most
of the time, I want the pasted text to take on the formatting of the
surrounding text (either in Word or FrameMaker), rather than inheriting the
formatting of the source.

But then, I'm often pasting text from one application into a completely
different app, and the basic "Past" command can give some quirky results,
whether you're using Word or not.
