Becca,
I didn't find an accelerator key combo for Insert Index Entry,
but here's how to find out what the assigned keys are and to
make new assignments:
Select Tools > Customize from the menu, activate the Commands
tab, then click the Keyboard button. You'll see a list of
all the commands contained within Word. Selecting a command
will display the currently assigned accelerator and allow you
to make new assignments.
