Absolutely! look no farther than Three Keys to the Past: The History of
Technical Communication
edited by Teresa Kynell & Michael Moran. It is volume 7 in the ATTW
Contemporary Studies in Technical COmmunication.1999 by Ablex Publishing.
Among the great essays that are in it, it has a comprehensive bibliography
in the back. ISBN #1-56750-394-2
Kynell writes mostly about the history of TC and I think this book is an
excellent starting place.
I hope this helps!

<<All:
I am a graduate student of technical writing at JMU in Virginia. As part of
my final grade in one of my classes, I am to research the history of
technical communication in the military industrial complex. Does anyone
recommend any specific articles or books on this subject? Any help is
appreciated.
Many thanks,
T.B. Booth>>
