> QUESTION 1
> When people talk list Senior Technical Writer under
> there name on this
> list, does it mean they are the Head of
> documentation team/department, or
> does that designate a number of years in tech
> writing?
A title is is a title. Your description of duties and
responsabilities should speak louder than your title.
Just as Documentation Specialist means many things
(from know-nothing neophyte to super-human
Doc-meister, depending on the company), so does Senior
TechWriter. Some places say it's years of experience,
others say it's involvement level and expertise. I
prefer the latter, as I've known many people with 3+
years of experience and a Masters degree and wouldn't
trust them with a doc plan for any reason!
> QUESTION 2
> When jobs ask for three years experience, would 2.5
> years + an intense
> summer of schooling qualify for such work,
> especially considering the work
> I've done here?
I always list work experience and school experience
seperately. They are completely different types of
experience and should be treated as such.
My opinions! Mine! Mine! Mine!
