Enjoyed the article, and enjoyed this bit of irony:
The author of the article writes, "Everywhere, even in
formal situations where precise language has been
customarily expected, we hear speakers fumbling for
the tolerably approximate word."
After one of the posters on our list made the
distinction between "precise" and "accurate" so clear,
this writer's use of the word "precise" made me smile.
I would never have noticed the misuse if not for this
list.
