Allaire HomeSite is another fine option if you demand control and
you don't want the application 'fixing' its code.

True, Mark, if you never use the Design tab.
HomeSite's Design mode is its version of a WYSIWYG editor. It will rewrite
your code. At least HomeSite warns you of this possibility when you click
the Design tab. I did a little testing on FrontPage 2000, and it seems to
produce much cleaner code in the WYSIWYG editor than it used to--cleaner
than HomeSite's WYSIWYG editor.
I still use HomeSite and write code "by hand," but sometimes, when I'm
editing content, it would be nice to be able to do it in a WYSIWYG editor.
