My manager is looking for "a freeware SDK for conversion of MS Word and
WordPerfect documents". (SDK= software developers kit)
I guess I'm a little unclear on your manager's goals... if she just wants automatic document conversion, you can use Word's own ability to convert between Word and other formats, and write a Visual Basic script to automate the process.
For example, I once wrote a script to enter a particular directory, open each document, save it as Text with Layout, then close it. Converted a whole bunch of files to reasonable-looking plain text in about 1/2 hour.
Since I was doing that kind of thing often at the time, I saved myself hours with that script, or a variation of it.
