On the other hand, I've never noticed perfection seeking writers
quite as doggedly as finger-pointing does. Half a year after
the manual is out, when everyone has forgotten the compulsory
company picnic, the sudden customization job, and the dozen
other interruptions that wrecked your schedule, your manual is
sitting there with errors in it for all to sneer at. And I've
never known an employer who consented to include an Excuses page
between the contents and preface.
