Don't. Instead, try to make the product work, draw with a rad some windows, ask developers if they'll use difficult concepts.
Try to understand the product before you ask the developer to describe it, cuz they tend to overdescribe what has been or will be long to develop, which may become a mere option in the result.
And also state that you'll need time once the product is finished, and this time would be about the validation time (validation of parts by developers is not proper validation).
