Subject:RE: Outputting to HTML and PDF formats? From:Megan Golding <mgolding -at- secureworks -dot- net> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Fri, 16 Mar 2001 11:33:07 -0500
My experience has shown that although Word is capable of converting to HTML,
the output is not very pretty. I do not view the native Word -> HTML
converter as a good solution for final product delivery.
I just found an interesting product on the web that you may be able to use.
Gohtm.com (http://www.gohtm.com) offers a free source -> HTML conversion
application that is web based. Currently, this service is free. You upload
your source file (Word, PDF, among other formats are accepted), they do the
conversion, and return e-mail the output. The whole process took me less
than 10 minutes. This will give you "simply...open the manual in a browser"
option that you suspect your client needs.
