Claire Philpott writes:
"I have been 'asked' to include figures under every screen capture and to
create an index of these figures."
The user manual style I inherited includes figures for each screen. I don't
know the initial reason for including a figure or numbers for screens, but I
don't find it difficult to maintain. Our manuals are written for
non-technical readers. The manuals cover in-house developed software. We
have not created an index but I can see that one might be helpful as a quick
reference to locate a section of the manual as long as the index also
included the name of the screen.
