For all of us Techwhirlers, I'm forwarding
an e-mail I received on another writing 
list. We often whine about how we get no 
respect, so here's a little unsolicited  
horn-tootin' for us from a poster on another
list who shall remain anonymous. Let's douse
the flames and end Tuesday on a positive 
note.

experienced technical writer (my background is 
editorial, marcomm writing). I thought, how 
hard could this be -- explain the steps in clear 
English. Boy, was I wrong! Once we actually learned
how the software worked, we had to figure out each
and every possible step a user could take and how to 
explain them without someone sitting over their 
shoulder walking through it.

Even though I wouldn't write another one, I developed
