I have to agree with Bill on this one. I have been laid off
three in the last 4 years. The first time I paniced. I was sooo
afraid of being out of work that I took the first job that came
along. Wrong move! It took me about a year and a half to straighten
myself out after that. I blamed myself and spent more time
kicking myself than fixing what should have been looked at
as an opportunity rather than a tragedy.
The other times, I took my time and found the job that i wanted
to be at.
Try to enjoy some of the free time. If you feel like you should
be proactive finding a job, then send resumes out in the morning
and enjoy the afternoons for something that makes you feel good.
It doesn't matter how many jobs are out there, or whether the
market is good or bad. If you let yourself wallow in self-pity,
etc. when it is time for an interview that is what will be
portraited to the interviewer.
So keep your chin up and good luck!
