TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
If printing the screen capture, try changing the dots per inch (dpi) size
rather than changing the size of the image. For example, if your screen
capture is 640 x 480 at 72 dpi, and you need it to fit on a letter sized
page, change the dpi to 100 or 150 instead of reducing the pixel size.
If you're not already using a third-party screen capture tool, then I
recommend TechSmith's Snag-It or Camtasia and/or Ulead's PhotoImpact. Free
downloads are available.
For Adobe Acrobat Distiller, verify that the output (aka, Job Options) is
Press Optimized or Print Optimized vice Screen Optimized.
