In reference to compatibility, does anyone know if PDFs created with 5 will be compatible with earlier versions of Acrobat or not? This is a big issue for our company since we deal with a lot of third party vendors and, obviously, clients.

And if they are NOT compatible, can we upgrade to 5 while maintaining version 4 on our system?
