And yet, some of our most creative music - jazz - has come from people who
intuitively knew the rules but possibly couldn't quote them, went by what
felt right, and broke rules like crazy - all to our benefit and enjoyment.

Not that this really aligns with what we do as technical writers - I realize
that there are many different audiences and that we have more of a need for
formality. But I also admit to only having some of the rules memorized.
