I agree with Scott in saying that you are a "true technical writer". The one
thing I've slowly learned is that "technical writing" covers a HUGE variety
of things. In my current job, I'm under marketing, but our products are very
technical. So I still consider myself a technical writer, altough many
people might say I'm "just in marketing". I learn something new everyday
about our stuff, and I seek out more technical information all the time
because I know it can only help me communicate more effectively. I say
learn as much as you can, and don't sell yourself short in regards to your
position (and its worth).
