TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
The STC's 49th annual Conference hospitality site (courtesy of the
Chicago chapter) is now online! Our simple (but elegant) site contains
all sorts of useful information for conference visitors to make their
stay here a pleasant one. It contains links to information on local
Chicago events, points of interest, restaurants, entertainment sources,
and links to local newspapers, TV and radio stations, among others. It
focuses on the Chicagoland area near downtown Chicago, point central for
the conference, but offers plenty of sources for more information. Even
sources for the weather and allergy reports are listed.
Of course, most of us local residents won't need this info, but please
spread the word about the site to anyone you know coming to Chicago for
the conference.
The STC conference hospitality site can be reached from STC National's
Conference webpage (at <http://www.stc.org/48thConf/index.html)> by
clicking the (blue) button labeled "Host Chapter".
The homepage of the Chicago STC chapter (at <http://www.stc-chicago.org> )
also has a link to the hospitality site in the "Chapter Events" area.
Suzanne Williams and I were very happy to have the opportunity to create
this hospitality "site" for the conference (and thanks to Renee Anderson
for the initial "design" ideas).
Thank you
