Hello, lurking newbie here. The other day, my developers pointed me to http://www.officeclippy.com Poor Clippy (and the funny thing about this is
that this is a MS site. Who says MS doesn't have a sense of humor?). After I
found "Hide Office Assistant" I loved Clippy to death. He didn't interrupt
my work flow or my thought processes. Once in awhile, Clippy was helpful,
but his infernal meddling was bothersome. And I agree: if he had been
smaller and not taking up half of the screen, I might have liked him more.
I had on my desktop at one time Clippy as edited by some crazed
developer--the jpg was the typical MS Word screen, with a suicide letter
being written and Clippy asking "Looks like you're trying to commit suicide!
Office Assistant can help you...." At the time in our mis-managed,
never-ending, anguish-filled project, it seemed appropriate.

Which part of Clippy did you not like? The animation? The interruptions? The
quality of answers? I am curious because I see people complaining about
Clippy, but not differentiating between the animated character and the
actual search functions the character represented.
