RE: TECHWR-L Conference
Why would an online TECHWR-L conference be
considered a "non-work-sanctioned event?" Would
your employer rather put you on a plane and pay
for your hotel room and conference fees instead?
Another option is that of a conference call. Paradox developers used to do that to discuss certain issues ... We'd all dial in at a certain time, and when they called the roll, we'd respond with "Here!" (Someone obviously recorded our names when we called in.)
That was a really neat way to discuss important issues. I still remember when Alan Zenreich said "Here!" from a car phone, en route to a funeral, if memory serves.
They were usually held in the evening, although at least one was in the daytime.
Although I preferred the evening calls, daytime were fine with my employer. After all, the better I mastered the technology, the better the work I'd be doing for them.
