It is equally insulting when "professionals" think they are somehow
"above" such menial tasks. Just because you have a college degree and you
can use Visio doesn't mean you get to float above all the little people
and only do the "important things."
Basically, if you are a meek person, louder, bossier people will take
advantage of you. However, if you take all work as personal challenge to
learn stuff and do a good job, you'll quickly realize that there is no
"menial" tasks. People will then respect you so much, they won't ask you
to do stupid stuff. They'll ask the meek dweeb behind you.
So it really is your choice. You can be a meek dweeb and get treated like
crap or you can be a tech writing tyranasaurus that gets the prime jobs
and big-time respect.
