Ahh, posts like Kelli's really warm my heart and emphasize what membership
in this listserv is all about! I can't thank the members of this list
enough, plus Deb and Eric, for all of the help and support you have given
me, a lurker for many, many months.
It's almost 5:00 p.m. in cloudy Southern California, and there's a refrain
playing in my earphones from the music CD in my PC. The refrain seems apt
after a week of discussing gender issues, lack of respect for our
profession, the pros and cons of being military/ex-military or having an
M.A. in English, whether STC should certify technical writers, or whether
membership in STC or attendance at an STC conference make a difference, and
(big breath) where to hold the first TECHWR-L conference.
I'd like to close this Friday with a quote from Chumbawumba!
"I get knocked down, but I get up again!" Remember, don't ever let them keep
you down.
Have a great weekend, listserv members around the world, and sing the songs
that remind you of the good times, sing the songs that remind you of the
