Another reason upgrades become 'required' is because the vendor will not
support older versions. For example, I use RoboHELP, version 8. eHelp
supports version 8 and 9. When version 10 comes out <whenever>, I'll have to
upgrade to at least version 9 to still receive email support, although few,
if any Classic enhancements (I only create .hlp files, not HTML) were made
in version 9.
