Re: FrameMaker TOC
I would like to have a colored graphic generate for each chapter heading. Is there a way to automate this or do I need to mannually add the graphic
to the TOC body page. I hope I have explained this a little more
thoroughly so someone will understand what I am looking to do.
As far as I know, there is nothing In FrameMaker to do what you ask. But I may not understand what you want.
If you want the *same* graphic with each toc entry, and it can be either above or below the toc entry, you can use reference frames - a method to assign to the pgf format a line or graphic to appear above or below a paragraph. You may then be able to get the desired effect via tricky use of formatting - use runin heads, etc.
If what you want is a graphic from the chapter, which is *different* for each chapter, you would need to have a tool written up - either in FrameScript, or via the FDK. Note, if the only thing that changes in the graphic is the chapter number, I would guess you can accomplish that via autonumbering in the reference frame.
All this is getting a little long-winded for this list... Contact me offline for more information, and maybe you should send me some files that show what you want to accomplish.
