Believe it or not Cindy, I stumbled across an answer to your question in a search for mine.  Now I have not tested this, but the solution that was presented to me is the following:

When Printing Choose Acrobat Distiller and click the Properties button. Under either the Layout or Paper Quality tabs is an Advanced button. Click it and under Postscript Options, set the PostScript Output Option to Escapsulated PostScript (EPS).

Like I said, I am not experiencing your issue, so I can not verify its accuracy...Just thought I would pass along something I found...
