Working in a Microsoft Word table, I encountered a format control unfamiliar
to me. There is a turquoise line which appears on click in this cell which
is associated with the expansion of the text across the width of the table.
While the row is merged, this is not part of the merge function. It is Not
part of the Format Font function, in that any change to the Character
spacing is Not retained. If you cut and paste material from another cell it
does not retain the original formatting, but applies this expanded text to
the new material. The line is not a graphic and only appears when you click
in the cell.

I found a straightforward workaround but am curious if anyone can tell me
what this was, how it was affected so as to cancel or reapply in some future
need.
Thank you.
