While I have not used Authorware in my time at my e-learning company, I do
know that the company has built single courses with it. I believe that it
allowed the writer of the course the ability to make .htm pages and link
them together without having to build an infrastructure/enlist an entire
coding team (which is the way we build courses now).
In my researching of firms requiring e-learning, it does seem that people do
use this off-the-shelf product for their infrastructure needs - when they
don't have access to more complex coding resources.
I'd learn it if they sent it my way.
My two cents.
