Maybe I am missing something, but I don't see where asking this kind of
question is asking others to do the research or to solve the problem. Is
asking for the help of a librarian having someone do your work for you? Or
is it just a part of the process of doing your research? Is asking if
someone knows of a good book, paper, website, etc., on a particular subject
asking someone else to do their work for them?

I see nothing in the original post that suggests that Shelly was asking
someone else to do the research, just asking others to point down the
appropriate aisle.
