I agree with Andrew that if you're not a Rational shop don't bother. I tried
SoDA about 3 years ago. I was using the Word version and then importing the
output to FrameMaker. I didn't use the FrameMaker version of SoDA because it
required FrameMaker for SGML, which we were not using.  Three years ago it
was buggy and the ability to customize the output was somewhat limited. It
may be that the FrameMaker version is better, or that the product has
improved since then.

I have tried SoDA for Word. It is a template-based document automation
system that works extremely well in a Rational shop. To make the system
really useful, your engineers and other staff must be using Rational
RequisitePro for requirements, Rational Rose for modeling, Rational Clear
Case and perhaps even other Rational tools. If your shop is not a Rational
shop, don't bother.
