Well I'll tell you what *I* would do, but then I'm nasty.
I'd ask them nicely a couple of times, and then leave
whoever's responsible for the information a voicemail
saying, "Sorry I didn't get your info on time. You can
forward it to <VP> directly, I'm sure he'll
understand whatever the reason is that you're late."
Then I'd forward the report on with a placeholder for
their information.
If they need to please the VP, they'll get you the
info on time the next time. It's a reflection on you if
the compiled product is late. If the product has to be
compiled without their information, it's a reflection on
them.
I think that in general it's a bad idea to play endless
games of "who's got the info." Get your stuff to me on
time and it goes in the final. Don't, and it doesn't. Decide.
