I won't argue with you there. And FWIW, the program I
took at Carnegie Mellon Univ. focused on
problem-solving. I would say that's the one thing I
got out of my whole college experience - not just the
tech writing program there.
CMU has a great program - all students have to take
computer classes, philosophy classes, social &
decision sciences, and math -- in addition to the
actual tech writing classes. It was probably a lot of
those "other" classes that helped me learn how to
problem/solve and how to be a little more tech savvy
than those who focused strictly on writing classes.
