Cross-posted to HATT and Techwr-L.

I'm using RoboHelp 8 to create a compiled HTMLHelp .chm.

Currently, I'm going through all the books in the ToC, and
assigning summary topics to them. So far, so good - except for
one topic. When I click on a specific book, a full second
instance of HTMLHelp (although a much smaller window) opens to
display the target topic. The target topic does not display in
the original HTMLHelp window. When I locate the target topic
through the Index or Search, it opens in the origional window,
and I don't get the second instance.

I tried unlinking the topic, compiling my help file, then
re-linking the topic and compiling again... and it does the same
thing. If I change the linked topic, the new topic opens in the
second window.

Ultimately, I deleted the book, and re-created it, which solved
the problem... but I still don't know why it happened (or how to
do it, if I ever want to do so deliberately)

Can anyone explain?

Thanks,

Becca
