OK, I guess it all depends... I entered the technical communication field at
age 22 but was first a typesetter and then a Help author. I wasn't a "tech
writer" until I was 24...
I guess what this poll is supposed to reveal is who started out of school
and who transitioned from another line of work?
I dunno about that, Bill. I didn't start working as a tech writer till I was 27-28 or so, but for me, that *was* right out of school--grad school. If we want to know who started out of school etc., Deborah can actually ask that question.
