1) Those who use Interleaf speak very highly of it.
2) Many of those who use Interleaf are reluctantly moving away from the
product due to perceived lack of support and development by the
manufacturer. Interleaf was bought by Broadvision in April, 2000. The
Interleaf product soldiers on as a product called Quicksilver and, according
to the web site, is still sold as Quicksilver 1.5.3. I challenge you to find
information about this product on the Broadvision site: http://www.broadvision.com. Pre-Quicksilver versions of Interleaf seem only
supported by Broadvision on a fee basis, checkout http://www.interleaf.com.
3) Most who contacted me are using an older version of Interleaf,
pre-Quicksilver, such as Interleaf 7.
4) There is peer-to-peer support for Interleaf at comp.text.interleaf. This
is a pleasantly quiet list, which seems bothered by more SPAM than product
questions. Although, the list is certainly active.
Thanks all. This is exactly the kind of background info. I needed.
Cheers,
Sean
P.S. It surprised me that received more feedback from Europe about Interleaf
than I did from North America!
